Currently, Lovely Award and a Giveaway Shout Out...and please help!

Wow, today was definitely a Monday!  There was so much to do the day flew by, but I still seemed to feel every minute...does that make sense?  Later a doctors office visit that has me waiting for over 80 minutes past my appointment time, another round of antibiotics for the sinus infection that won't die, only to be given one of the ten pills at the pharmacy...need to go back tomorrow to pick the rest up!  Definitely a Monday!

BUT when I get home and check my email I see I have a lovely comment from Erin Franklin at First with Franklin.  She's awarded my blog the Lovely Award!  Erin really helped this Monday become not so Mondayish!  I have a second wind and feel motivated to blog if not work.  Thank you Erin for #1 stopping by my new blog!  #2 for thinking my blog was worth mentioning on your blog, I'm your newest follower and can't wait to see all your great ideas!
So, part of the Lovely Blog Award commitment is linking back to your "awarder" (if that isn't a word it should be!!!) and recognizing other lovely blogs.  But I'm going to do the second part later this week...did I mention I was at the doctors office for nearly 2 hours?  I WILL share the love...but I am going to bask in the love first.   :)

Giveaway Shout Out
Another blog I'd like to mention is Leea's blog Set This Circus Down.  Leea is having a linky party for newbie bloggers which also involves a giveaway, a $25 Amazon gift card to be exact.  It's great for newbie bloggers to share in their newness together so head over and join Leea's linky if you're a newbie, otherwise there are all sorts of great links to new blogs to check out, not to mention the potential prize!

HELP US NEW BLOGGERS!
Seriously, tonight is blog recognition night over here! Vicky at Traditions, Laughter and Happily Ever After (one of my very first followers - she must be great!) posted about something that has been on my mind for a while now.  As a new blogger I have ideas - but I'm not always sure how to make those ideas look as polished and professional as what I see other more experienced bloggers sharing.

FOR EXAMPLE, my contractions pages - I spent so much time on trying to get borders look right and on details like that that I almost fainted this morning when I printed it (I don't have a printer at home...not a recipe for success!) and the borders were cut off the edges of the page.  I'm scared I'll get bad reviews on teachers pay teachers for my borders being cut off...seriously this is making me ill!  (I'll fix it stat, but I know there has to be an easier way to do this!)

So back to the point, Vicky suggested that perhaps a more experineced blogger could give a tutorial on putting units together - what tools do you use, what are some key tips, etc.  Please if you have some tips, I could use them!  And thank you Vicky for suggeting this!

CURRENTLY
And finally, I'm linking up to something for the very first time!!!  The Currently Linky that Farley at Oh' Boy Fourth Grade hosts.  I feel so a part of something for participating in something that it seems like all the blogs I follow participate in!
That's all for today...off to rest (which if I'm honest means blog stalking for another hour or two before bed).
Cheers,Mrs. Castro Pin It

  3. Hi Laura,

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! And I was so excited to read in your post about Vicky's request! I have been trying to figure out things too and been wondering what all the experienced bloggers use and if they had any tips! I will have to head on over to her blog also to support her! Thanks for sharing! Oh, and I am now following your blog as well!

  5. You started our study of the contractions themselves. You found the first contraction wrote it at the bottom of the page and tried to figure out what the two words. Now it's time to avail vacuum sealer bags for more information.
